Sir Branch 98 2023 Annual Points Championship-November Playoffs

 

The top 80 annual points earners as of November 1 are eligible to play for the Sir Branch 98 club championship in November.   To win the club championship, you need not play in all three club championship tournaments Morgan Creek (Nov. 6), Haggin Oaks (Nov. 13) and Catta Verdera (Nov. 20).  Current handicaps will be used for all tournaments.

The Morgan Creek (Nov. 6th) tournament will be worth quadruple points and is open to all within the top 80 point earners. After these points are awarded, the field will be reduced to the top 50 annual points earners for the next tournament.

The Haggin Oaks (Nov. 13th) tournament will be for the remaining top 50 and will also be worth quadruple points.  After these points are awarded, the field will be reduced to the top 30.

The final tournament field at Catta Verdera on November 23 will consist of the top 30 players.  Players who still have enough points to be in the top 30 but have missed one or both of the previous two tournaments are still eligible.  If any of the top 30 elect not to play at Catta Verdera then spots will be offered to number 31, 32, 33 etc. until 30 spots are filled.  The final top 30 will be handicapped with the benefit of the following stroke REDUCTIONS off of the net score posted at Catta Verdera:

1st Place:	- 3 strokes
2nd-5th Place:	- 2 strokes
6th-15th Place:	- 1 stroke
16th-30th Place:	- 0 strokes

If a tournament is rained out, that tournament will be held at the next golf course on our schedule.

The club champion will be the lowest net score after applying the stroke reductions above.

In the case of a tie, our standard tiebreaking method will be used.

Prize money, see below, is awarded to the top 80 annual points finishers for the entire year.
